GNS Alum Nabs Golf Tour Title

Thomas Horan '17 recently took part in the Maple Leaf Junior Golf tour in Ontario, where he won the Junior Boys 17-18 title.

The non-profit MJT is Canada's most-played major junior golf tour and is run exclusively by PGA of Canada Golf Professionals. Thomas says he wanted to participate because he had heard many positive things about the tour and happened to be in Ontario for the event.

Thomas made his appearance count: he shot 80,80 (160), earning him the Junior Boys title over Michael Desautels of Oakville, ON.

"I played smart golf and didn't take very many risks off the tee," says Thomas. "The course was fantastic with fast greens and I'm very pleased with the results this weekend."

While at GNS, Thomas was the male athlete of the 2016/2017 school year and MVP (Low Gross winner) of the senior golf team. He currently studies Geological Engineering at the University of Waterloo.

Congratulations Thomas!
