Resources to help in the application process.
Glenlyon Norfolk School works with a select group of qualified international student recruitment agents to support the application process for families applying to GNS from abroad.
We offer two distinctive boarding options designed to provide international and out-of-region students with a safe, supportive and academically focused environment that supports their personal growth. Families can select between our unparalleled Family Boarding Homestay, unique in Canada, or the vibrant community of Gryphon House Boarding.
The goal of the Gryphon Boarding program is to provide students from outside Victoria the opportunity to live like a local and learn like a global citizen at Vancouver Island’s only IB World Continuum School.
Located in one of Canada’s most desirable neighbourhoods, this stunning heritage mansion isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a home. At 14,000 square feet, Gryphon Manor offers an intimate “boutique” experience for just 15 students.
The GNS Family Boarding Homestay program is unique in Canada because students are all hosted by current parents or staff. This ensures they are provided with a safe and supportive English-speaking family environment that has strong connections to the school community.
GNS is proud to introduce the Gryphons Golf Prep Program—a partnership between Glenlyon Norfolk School and the Golf Performance Project—the only high-performance initiative of its kind in BC, that uniquely integrates world-class athletic training from PGA professionals with the academic rigour of an IB World Continuum education to prepare athletes for university-level competition.

English Acquisition (EA) is a specialized English language course for Grade 8 to 10 students whose first language is not English. Language learners typically develop proficiency in social English quite quickly, but need intensive study to develop sufficient levels of academic English, which has much more complex vocabulary and grammatical structures. The EA course prepares students for academic success. Developing students’ academic English supports progress within all subjects across the curriculum. For students younger than Grade 8, EA availability is determined upon application.

All boarding students are required to attend our Headstart program—a one-week orientation program that takes place the week before classes start in September and which introduces life at Glenlyon Norfolk School to new international students. It offers a comprehensive understanding of the school’s culture, the International Baccalaureate Programme and what to expect as the newest members of our unique and vibrant community.
The GNS Admissions team is travelling extensively over the coming year. Please review our travel schedule to book a meeting when we are in your region. This schedule will be updated frequently so please check back often to see the latest updates. To arrange a meeting and learn more about our school, please email [email protected].
