COVID-19 Updates

Campus Visit Protocols

In an effort to support the well-being of all GNS community members, we kindly ask all visitors to abide by the following protocols. These health and safety protocols are based on the Provincial COVID-19 Health Safety Guidelines for K-12, in an effort to reduce the spread and transmission of the COVID-19 virus or other communicable diseases. GNS acknowledges that individuals may have different levels of comfort when it comes to their own health and safety and wishes to support the well-being of each member of our community.

Parents and visitors are still encouraged to make appointments to visit either campus unless their presence is connected to a planned school activity where audiences or attendance has been encouraged by the school. When planning a visit, please contact the appropriate staff member to arrange a meeting time and location. Once on campus, please report to the main reception areas, where you will be asked to sign in.

Health Awareness

Health awareness reduces the likelihood of a person with a communicable disease coming to school when they are infectious. We ask all visitors to perform a personal health check to confirm that they (or their child) are not experiencing symptoms of illness (including but not limited to COVID-19 symptoms) to ensure they are not coming to school when they are sick (including if they are unable to participate fully in regular activities due to symptoms of illness).

All visitors to GNS should be familiar with our communicable disease prevention plan, including personal practices. After hours community use of our facilities can occur in alignment with activities permitted as per relevant local, regional, provincial and federal public health recommendations and Orders.

Maks and Face Coverings

The decision to wear a mask or face covering is a personal choice for staff, students and visitors. A person’s choice will be supported and respected. GNS will have non-medical masks on hand for those who have forgotten theirs but would like to wear one, or who become ill at school.
