GNS to Host Third Model UN Conference
By Abi Bowering '20
On Friday, November 29, and Saturday, November 30, GNS will host the third iteration of our annual Model UN conference, GMUN. This is a unique opportunity for students to participate in diplomatic debate right at our school (and for Diploma candidates is a great CAS experience!).
Our aim is to deliver a fun and engaging experience for new and experienced delegates alike, and to provide a supportive learning environment to delve deeper into the exciting world of MUN. Since GMUN is a small conference, all delegates will have an opportunity to use their voice and gain invaluable skills in leadership, public speaking, debating, and collaboration. This year, GMUN boasts a culture festival, an activity designed to broaden your worldview in a different way and build friendships between delegates.
We are offering five committee choices: two levels of the Economic and Social Council, Security Council, Star Wars Joint Crisis, and Press Corps. For more information regarding committees and everything GMUN, visit our new website.
We urge students to submit registration as soon as possible, with the deadline fast approaching on November 15th. To fully register, students must fill in the Delegate Registration form, linked on the website, AND complete payment through BlackBaud, also available on the website. Payment includes all conference fees as well as two meals. To access the registration page, click here. Families are reminded that a committee and country will not be assigned to a delegate until you have done both steps of registration.
If you have questions or concerns, contact the GMUN secretariat team; we are happy to help and want you to have the best conference experience possible.
