School Break Camps at GNS

Each year, Glenlyon Norfolk School is pleased to offer a variety of FUN programs to keep students active during school breaks!
This year, we are providing programs for students aged 3 to 12. Our youngest campers will have the chance to have a Nature Adventure under the supervision of our own Nadia Brown, while our older campers have many choices designed to encourage active, creative play while having lots of fun.

Camp Locations

Our Pemberton Woods Campus is located at 801 Bank Street. The drop off area is accessible from Maddison Street.

Our Beach Drive Campus is located at 1701 Beach Drive. There is street parking adjacent to the campus.

  • Chickadees Nature Adventure: Ages 3 to 4

    This camp is designed for campers ages 3-4 years old. This camp will integrate children with their natural world and engage them in quality outdoor learning that stimulates their curiosity and imagination. Our unstructured style of play allows children to interact meaningfully with their surroundings. They can think more freely, design their own activities, and approach the world in innovative ways. Beachcombing treasures such as pine cones and acorns, shells, sea glass, or feathers that are collected outside are brought into the classroom and used for hands-on exploration and to stimulate young imaginations. They can even be used as counting tools or to create art. Campers can expect to go outside every day to explore the neighbourhood and nearby beaches.

  • Chipmunks Space Exploration: Ages 5 to 6

    To infinity and beyond! This camp is designed for students ages 5-6 years old. Over the course of the week, your child will train to become a junior astronaut, and venture further out into space each day, learning about what’s in our solar system, galaxy and beyond along the way! The days will include indoor crafts and outside play.

    When your child is outside of the classroom they can expect to explore the changing beach tides and learn how the solar system affects the tides.

  • Gryphons Local Exploration: Ages 10 to 12

    This camp is designed for campers who are ages 10-12 years old. This is for all the campers who have a love of exploration and adventure. Over the course of the week, campers can expect to engage in geocaching and exploring local beaches and parks on foot looking for new treasures.

  • Ravens Mad Scientist: Ages 7 to 9

    This camp is designed for campers ages 7-9 years old. If you're curious about experiments and volcanic eruptions?  This camp is for you, over the course of the week you can expect to create many controlled experiments and explosions. The days will vary between experiments and indoor and outdoor play.

    When your child is outside of the classroom they can expect to explore the changing beach tides.

    This camp is designed for students ages 5-6 years old. Get ready for a week full of springtime FUN! We will be exploring local areas, beaches and ending the week with a hike in Uplands Park. Campers can expect to go home each day having learned a new game.

  • Gryphons- Arts & Crafts: Ages 10 to 12

    This camp is designed to fuel your inner creativity for campers who are 10-12 years old. Campers can expect to create arts and crafts each day using a variety of mixed media. When campers are not crafting they will be playing and having fun outside and exploring the beaches for new treasures that could potentially be turned into new art projects.

  • Raves FUN: Ages 7 to 9

    This camp is designed for campers who are ages 7-9 years old. We will be welcoming spring with new wacky outdoor games and exploration. Campers can expect to be outside exploring our local beaches and nearby parks on foot.

  • Q: Is Extended Care available?

    Extended Care is available from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. free of charge to all campers from ages 5 to 10.
  • Q:
    I would like to cancel my child’s registration. What is your refund policy?

    All requests for refunds must be made in writing via email to ssullivan@mygns.ca. Refunds less than a $50 administrative charge per camp, per child, will be issued for all camp cancellations up to two weeks (14 days) before the first day of the camp. GNS reserves the right to cancel a camp due to insufficient enrolment or unavailability of instructors. If this situation arises, camps will be cancelled by 3:30 p.m. one week before the start date and all fees for a cancelled camp will be refunded.
  • Q: What if I am late to pick-up my child from Extended Care?

    For any child not picked up by the time reflected in their registration, parents will be charged a $25 late pick-up fee per child.
