On a recent afternoon at Glenlyon Norfolk School, students from both Middle and Senior Schools had the exciting opportunity to hear from GNS alum Connor Roberts ’22, now an accomplished video game developer and founder of their own studio. Connor returned to GNS to share insights about their career journey, the world of game development, and what it takes to succeed in this dynamic and growing industry.
The lunch-hour session drew a vibrant crowd of students passionate about art, game design, coding and computer science—many of whom dream of following a similar path. Connor spoke about their experiences studying at Vancouver Film School (VFS), where they completed the Video Game Development program. As a valued partner institution for our Senior School CineMagic Film and Animation course, VFS offers GNS students unique, real-world connections to post-secondary opportunities in media, animation and gaming. Connor highlighted the exceptional quality of instruction and hands-on learning at VFS, encouraging students to explore its creative programs if they aspire to enter fields like game development, animation or digital storytelling.
Connor is currently developing a new game titled Kairos: Song of Order, a highly anticipated project under their company, Pronto Games. Prior to this, they served as a programmer and developer for Haste, a successful indie title that further cemented their reputation in the gaming community.
