Gudewill Learning Commons

The Gudewill Learning Commons is a collaborative space and the hub of the Senior School. The teacher-librarian assists students to competently conduct research, both on a class and individual basis.
As part of learning about citations and academic honesty, the teacher-librarian assists students in using the turnitin.com program. The knowledge and skills they acquire will prepare them for post-secondary programs. The library collection reflects the curriculum and includes databases, books, teacher resources, audiobooks and DVDs. Through the Gudewill Learning Commons, students also have access to the BC digital classroom, which contains resources at varying age levels, and in alternative languages. In addition, there are a variety of magazines and two daily newspapers. GNS students and staff are welcome to use the facilities and resources for study, research, printing, scanning, photocopying, and reading.

The Learning Commons helps students develop the following skills:
  • Information literacy
  • Digital citizenship
  • Collaboration
  • Research
  • Citation
  • Literacy
