University Preparation

Our mission: "to challenge and support our students to do their best through truth and courage in learning and in life" really does lie at the very heart of everything we do.
This is especially true when it comes to helping our students prepare for their post-secondary lives. Our academic advisors begin working with students in Grade 9 to help students determine appropriate choices for university and college based on interests, courses, school records, location and costs.

Recognizing that post-secondary planning is a collective process involving the school, the individual student and his/her family, our advisors strive to keep all parties informed about opportunities and application deadlines as they arise. Throughout the year, they schedule visits from university representatives from around the world to meet with Senior School students to answers questions or provide information about specific programs.

  • Class of 2019 Offers

Congratulations to the Class of 2019! This remarkable group of personalities has accomplished a lot during their time at GNS. Our grads completed 1947 hours of service this year and 6310 hours during their time as Senior School students. To achieve this feat, some grads founded a program to help seniors use technology to stay in touch with loved ones. Others helped people connect to nature through conservancy groups, ecological restoration, and volunteering at nature centres. And some mentored younger students in academics, theatre, music, and sports.

These 55 Gryphons have earned 182 offers of acceptance from post-secondary institutions across Canada and around the world, an average of 3.3 per grad. They have chosen to attend schools as nearby as the University of Victoria, and as far away as London, England, and Queenstown, New Zealand. And collectively, they have earned offers of over $739,000 in scholarships. We are so proud of all of you and look forward to hearing about all of your upcoming adventures.
