After School Care
After School Care is a Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) licensed childcare program offered at the Junior Campus from 3:15 to 5:30 p.m. There are two age groups, Junior Kindergarten to Grade 2 and Grade 3 to Grade 5, each with their own activities and adult leaders providing fun and safe care. Daily routines include free time outside, a healthy snack, and an organized group activity such as indoor or outdoor games or a craft.
All After School Care staff are over the age of 19, have valid first aid certificates, have training with children, and have at least 20 hours of experience in child care prior to GNS. Volunteers from the middle school and high school are also a central part of the program, offering additional care and acting as good role models.
