Write Your Story at GNS

Are you a student who:

  • learns by doing and by asking big questions?
  • is looking for teachers who meet you where you are, but support you to stretch beyond your boundaries?
  • wants to join an eclectic community that values perspectives from around the world?

Then maybe it is time for you to Write YOUR Story at GNS

At Glenlyon Norfolk School, our students are empowered by their teachers to become the authors of their own learning stories. As International Baccalaureate students, they are encouraged to ask questions, explore topics independently and take action about issues that they feel are important. They are inspired by a first-class academic experience that is complemented by extensive exposure to artistic, athletic and service opportunities, to discover the stories they want to tell about themselves. They are given the tools to unlock their own potential and to realize what passions they want to pursue.
The GNS experience is an enriched one that meets every student where they are and supports them to do their very best. This is possible because of our people. The relationships forged between students and teachers who know them and care about them as individuals set us apart and make our great school truly exceptional.
Our students do not all follow the same script. Instead, they are encouraged to develop their own plot and narrative in a safe setting where staff recognize that successes and mistakes are both valuable components of learning and development.

Our Values

For more than a century, GNS has offered students from throughout Victoria and around the world a unique approach to education that promotes critical thinking, inquiry-based learning and development of intellect and empathy. With 150 dedicated faculty and staff and a broad program of academics, athletics, fine arts and service, our 700 students are given the opportunity to differentiate themselves in many ways.
At GNS, every student is recognized and supported as a unique individual. Each is responsible for their own actions and is challenged to continually embrace the core values of the school, which are designed to allow students to be the best they can be in every area of the school, and in life. These values include truth, courage, caring, individuality and community.
