Gryphon Gallery: Dalton Wong

Alumni
Dalton left GNS with the ambition of doing what he wanted to do without being broke (Yearbook 1994), but at that moment, not knowing what that would look like. It took a year-long walkabout in Australia, like a rite of passage, to reach his chosen path. While there he met his wife-to-be and shortly thereafter followed her to London, England.

While at GNS, Dalton played rugby, golf and snapped photographs for the yearbook, while also being active, eating well and always having fun. It was no surprise to those who knew him that this led to a spell working in a health clinic in London. But then Dalton set up a private training  gym in South Kensington called Twenty Two Training and promoted himself as a performance coach, personal trainer and nutritional expert.

He has never looked back, spending more than twenty years helping his clients all over the world achieve sustainable results. Those clients have included singer-songwriter Dido, Hugh Grant, Game of Thrones stars Kit Harrington and Gwendoline Christie, and Oscar winners—Jennifer Lawrence and Olivia Colman.

Dalton’s success inevitably led to a book. In 2016 he co-wrote The Feelgood Plan: Happier, Healthier and Slimmer in 15 Minutes a Day. Jennifer Lawrence’s Forward stated: “He changed my body for a movie, but gave me the skills to change my life. Dalton is different to other trainers because he understands what my body needs—how to exercise, when to unwind, how to enjoy food. I’m so happy he’s written a book with such a wonderful message.”

Praise indeed—and who would argue with a woman who can shoot an arrow as accurately as she can! This is the eighteenth instalment of a series of articles entitled “Gryphon Gallery” created by our School Archivist that provide snapshots that celebrate the achievements of a variety of alumni and staff from throughout the history of GNS.
