By Jean Bigelow This year a number of students challenged themselves to prepare for and write math contests, and it was great to see so many take up the challenge and do so well! In the Cariboo Cup, the top scoring student in Grade 3/4 was Luca Finn Storan. Luca placed 25th out of 8,956 students worldwide, earning him a spot in the top 1% of all students who wrote. In Grade 5, Sierra Myers came 603 out of 12,162 students worldwide, placing her in the top 5%. This is a wonderful achievement! Nolan Wharton was the top scoring GNS student in Grade 3 in the Thales contest. Christian Mundstock was the top scoring GNS student in Grade 4 in the Byron-Germain contest with a perfect score! Joining him on the Byron-Germain student honour roll is Ella Shah, Adam Cotterell and Luca Finn-Storan. Sierra Myers was the top scoring GNS student in Grade 5 in the Fibonacci contest. Joining her on the Fibonacci student honour roll is Theo Serowka and Laila Shetty. In the Fibonacci and Byron-Germain contests GNS placed on the Canadian school honour roll. Congratulations to all for doing your best and enjoying the process!
