Grade 1 students had a delicious morning on Friday thanks to a private lesson from Chef Dan Hayes of “The London Chef,” a Victoria-based cooking school. Dan showed the students how to make eggs, creating a tasty dish by adding the eggs to a baguette with parmigiano-reggiano cheese. The Grade 1s got to crack their own eggs and sample the dish after the demonstration! Dan also taught the children where the ingredients they were eating came from, including how salt, butter, olive oil and more are made. The cooking class was part of the Grade 1s’ inquiry unit on Balanced Choices, which aims to help the students explore healthy routines and lifestyles. A huge thanks to Chef Dan for stopping by!
