Grade 6 students Alex Palm and Mackenzie White recently organized a successful book drive at the Junior School campus! All books went towards a local organization, 1000×5. The name comes from the idea that if a child hears 1000 books by the age of 5, they are much better prepared to enjoy and succeed in learning.
1000×5 is run by volunteers who collect, clean, repair, package and distribute books to local children who need them. Thanks to all the very generous book donations, Alex and Mackenzie were able to donate 11 boxes of books (over 500 books!) and $130 in Russell Books gift cards. Thank you for helping promote literacy to children throughout the Capital Region!
