Champ Chat Recap

Last Friday, girls aged 8 to 18 from across throughout Greater Victoria gathered in the Gudewill Gym to participate in a Champ Chat hosted in partnership with Fast & Female. They got to know each other through team-building games led by Olympians and varsity athletes from around British Columbia, including GNS alum Jill Yoneda ’92, free diving record holder & ultramarathon swimmer, and current GNS PE teachers Leah Hall, Bunny Hughes, and Tassy Davidson. The girls rowed, meditated, danced, and talked about what it means to be active. They asked many thoughtful questions of the ambassadors and made connections with other girls across Greater Victoria.

Thank you to all the volunteers and ambassadors who made this great event possible! Fast & Female was created to change the culture around girls in sports, and to pursue a mission of keeping girls healthy, happy and active in sports through their teens by introducing them to inspiring athlete role models.
