By Damon Henry This year we are very excited to offer two Outdoor Education trips for students in Grades 7 and 8. These trips are part of an expanded Outdoor Education Program for the Middle School that came about after a thorough review of our K-12 program. Our goals are to help foster a lifelong love of the outdoors and to provide a scaffolded set of activities that will set our students up well for the incredible trips that are on offer in the Senior School. These trips are ‘Challenge by Choice,’ meaning that they are optional and with a limited number of spaces available. We are expecting significant interest, so please follow the instructions below to register your child. For Grade 8, we are offering an Introduction to Snow Camping overnight trip in Strathcona Provincial Park on March 14-15, 2019, and an overnight voyageur canoeing/camping trip in June. There are two trips available for Grade 7: a Residential Winter Camp to Mt. Washington (March 14-15, 2019) and an overnight Voyageur Canoe trip (May 16-17, 2019). To register, please login to Blackbaud and click on ‘Forms to Review.’ If your child is interested in participating in the Winter Camp, please sign and submit the consent form no later than October 29, 2018. On October 30, the lottery will be held and the participant list will be announced. If your child has been selected, you will receive additional details regarding payment instructions. See you in the snow!
