Due to COVID-19, many of the Round Square events have gone online. Thanks to the leadership of Ms. McKerlich, Ms. Coll and Tara Golonka, Round Square has worked with current health regulations involving social interactions to raise more than $150 from hot chocolate sales and $33 from the candy raffle this Fall Term. Thank you GNS! All the proceeds, along with the money collected from the October and November muftis, contributes to the Fall Term Charity: The Breast Cancer Society of Canada. The BCSC has been funding Canadian breast cancer research since 1991. After the winter break, Round Square will be out and about selling hot chocolate for one more day, Thursday, January 7 at lunch for Grade 9 and 10 in the Dining Hall and for Grade 11 and 12 at the benches outside the turf. There will be hot chocolate and marshmallows! The last fundraiser of 2020 was a Grade 9 to 11 Secret Santa event. The proceeds, raised from the $2 donations for every gift exchanged, will go towards the Winter Term charity: RAVEN Trust. RAVEN is a charity that supports Aboriginal values and works to preserve the environment.
