As of January 27, following the weekly Senior School Round Square meeting, the scores for the Granola Bars for Good fundraiser are as follows: The Grade 9s have closed the gap between students and staff and are now in the lead with a total of 137 granola bars collected, but Staff are close on their heels with 133 granola bars. The other grades have been left in the dust with Grade 12s at 15 granola bars and Grade 10s with 5 granola bars. At the eleventh hour, Grade 11s have made the scoreboard with 30 bars.

On Wednesday, February 3, the Senior School Round Square will make the final tally and announce the winner of the grand prize—a FREE Mufti day! There is still time for Grade 10, 11, and 12 students to take home, or ”to school,” the ultimate prize—bragging rights! While the Grade 9s still have a little less than a week to pull farther ahead as they currently have a slim lead of just four granola bars. With another standard 64 granola bar box from Costco, GNS Staff will surely snatch the prize!

These granola bars are being collected for homeless youth who are currently using the Out of The Rain Youth Shelter. These bars will be greatly appreciated and will be distributed as a morning snack—something to carry them throughout the day. As a reminder, granola bars have to be nut-free and soft.

On January 29, Senior School Round Square also held a mufti fundraiser for RAVEN Trust, which stands for: Respecting Aboriginal Values and Environmental Needs. RAVEN Trust supports the values of Indigenous Nations and works to preserve the environment.

Round Square will also be updating their Instagram page, so keep an eye out for updates on fundraising and activities!

Thank you to all those who have donated and contributed to the Granola Bars for Good fundraising activity—may the best Grade, or staff, win!
