The Senior School Round Square is proud to present their latest fundraiser, ‘Granola Bars for Good!’ Granola Bars for Good is a Senior School Round Square initiative for local homeless youth, who rely on the Out of the Rain Youth Shelter.

Started in 1998, Out of the Rain Youth Shelter is a community-based building project in Victoria that works to minimize the risks and dangers homeless youth face. In the  colder months of the year (October to April), Out of the Rain provides homeless youth aged 15 to 25 with warm cooked meals and shelter at night.

The granola bars donated will be distributed to the youth in the mornings, along with some fruit, as a morning snack. A nutritious and balanced breakfast, scientifically proven to be the most important meal of the day, positively impacts the youth’s performance in school.

Starting on January 20 and collecting until February 3, the granola bars will be our gift to those in need. Place your granola bars in your Grade’s respective bin located outside the cafeteria under the Round Square bulletin board. Granola bars should be soft and nut-free. Look for the words “Nut-free”, “Made in a Nut-Free Factory”, or “Soft and chewy”.

The Grade or staff with the most granola bars collected wins a FREE Mufti Day. On Wednesday, February 3, Round Square will count the granola bars during  regular meetings and announce the winner. So far, GNS staff are ahead in the competition with 64 more granola bars than any other Grade.

Get into the competitive and giving spirit by helping your grade win a Mufti Day by donating a granola bar in bins located outside the cafeteria before February 3!
