Host families in the GNS community provide a welcoming, supportive, English-speaking home environment for students from other countries. Through your participation in this program, you and your family can make a lasting connection with a student from a different cultural background. The Family Boarding program at GNS is one of a kind, and creates deep, meaningful bonds across borders: many of our international students come to think of their student housemates as brothers or sisters, and continue to stay in touch with their Host Families long after graduation. Living with a Canadian family not only provides international students with the opportunity to explore the city and Canadian culture, but also gives them the chance to speak English regularly, which is a critical element in how quickly their language skills progress. If you decide to host an international student, our Family Boarding Coordinator will make every effort to match you with the most appropriate student for your family. We offer a level of personalized service that sets us apart, and pride ourselves on ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for everyone, every step of the way.
