Congratulations to the Class of 2019! This remarkable group of personalities has accomplished a lot during their time at GNS. Our grads completed 1947 hours of service this year and 6310 hours during their time as Senior School students. That is an average of 35 hours each during a busy Grade 12 year. To achieve this feat, some grads founded a program to help seniors use technology to stay in touch with loved ones. Others helped people connect to nature through conservancy groups, ecological restoration, and volunteering at nature centres. And some mentored younger students in academics, theatre, music, and sports. These 55 Gryphons have earned 182 offers of acceptance (an average of 3.3 per grad) from post-secondary institutions across Canada and around the world. They have chosen to attend schools as nearby as the University of Victoria, and as far away as California, London, England, and Queenstown, New Zealand. Collectively, they have earned 49 scholarship offers totalling over $739,000. We are so proud of all of you and look forward to hearing about all of your upcoming adventures. This unique group of school leaders also included 12 Lifers (students who started at GNS in JK, K or Grade 1) and 24 IB Diploma Candidates. We wish them all the best as they head off and look forward to hearing about all their upcoming adventures!
