Senior School Round Square Introduces ‘5K to Make Someone’s Day’

The Senior School Round Square committee has been hard at work thinking of community engagement initiatives to help others during the quarantine. As a result, they’d like to introduce ‘5K to Make Someone’s Day!’

All proceeds from this initiative will be given to the Red Cedar Cafe, a not-for-profit food delivery and take-out service, run on a 100% volunteer basis, to provide healthy meals free of charge to seniors, people in self-isolation and other people in need in Victoria. This group of volunteer chefs, restaurant workers, and citizens delivered 1,200 meals last week, and they anticipate they will continue their work through to 2021.

We challenge you to run, walk, or bike 5 kilometres, before challenging five friends to do the same! Once you have completed your 5k (or more!), there will be a suggested donation of $5, allowing Red Cedar Cafe to continue helping those in need. Additionally, the Red Cedar Cafe is looking for volunteers to build their website, as well as offer other skills. Please see the volunteer sign up form below.
