GNS Senior Students came together this Monday for the annual University Application Bash, hosted by the University Guidance Office. The event gave the students with a focused, supportive environment to work on their university applications, with teachers and mentors on hand to provide advice (as well as pizza). “The application process can be isolating, and it’s hard to know how to build yourself up in what you write,” said SS Principal Mr. Palm. “Others can help you with that, and with giving you perspective.” In addition to providing camaraderie and support, the Bash helps students get their applications done before the holidays so that they can enjoy the break free of looming deadlines. “The fact that they get structure and community out of this is lovely,” said Ms. Elbert, who lent her expertise to the evening. “It’s an opportunity for the students to get excited about moving forward in their educational career, and to recognize what you’ve already achieved.”
