The Junior School boys recently returned from the 2018 CAIS tournament in Toronto. They truly rose to the occasion, demonstrating incredible resolve, determination and great team spirit. They finished the first day with a win, a draw and a loss, which had them competing on the ‘consolation’ side of the tournament for the remaining two days. Day two earned the team two wins and one loss. On the third day, they took part in a Friendly game against Royal St. George’s College. Even though they lost, it was a great end to a fantastic tournament. In addition to competing, the team had the chance to explore Toronto. They visited the Hockey Hall of Fame, perusing historical displays and paying homage to the heroes of the past. They also enjoyed the interactive slap-shot rapid fire station and the goaltender penalty shot station. After that, they rose to the summit of the CN Tower, where they had clear views of the city and Lake Ontario. Most of the boys spend their time jumping up and down on top of the see-through floor! Overall the boys represented GNS excellently, and received many positive comments from various people throughout our trip – airline staff, restaurant servers, gift shop employees – on how well behaved they all were.
