Digital Scoreboard

A digital scoreboard will be installed on the turf field in its North Eastern corner (at the end furthest from Richmond Avenue). This process will begin on May 8 2023 and will likely be concluded on May 18. During this time it will be necessary for a crane to be on site arriving via Bank Street on May 8 and again on May 18, and it will be necessary to pour concrete on May 9 that will be delivered by an agitator truck, again via Bank Street. If you have any questions about this process, please email neighbours@mygns.ca.

GNS Presents: Peter and the Starcatcher

Our Middle School students will present Peter and the Starcatcher from May 11 to 13 in Denford Hall. This play follows the misadventures of a group of brave British patriots, pirate ruffians and island inhabitants as they learn about leadership, sacrifice and the meaning of home. All performances will be at 7 p.m. except for the Saturday matinee which will start at 2 p.m. Please email communications@mygns.ca for information on how to obtain some complimentary tickets.

Parent Education Event: Dr. John Medina

This is a special evening presentation for parents and community members with Dr. John Medina, the bestselling author of Brain Rules: 12 Rules for Surviving and Thriving at Work, Home, and School. Dr. Medina will be delivering an in-depth look at how children’s brains are affected in their home and school environments and sharing how parents and educators can use ‘12 Brain Rules’ to raise and educate happy and healthy children. Tickets are available online for $15.

Bottle Drive

Thank you to all the contributed to the recent bottle drive organized by the Senior School Round Square student committee. This event raised $275 which, when combined with their other fundraising activities, means they have raised $964 so far this term for the Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness. This is one of two local charities the group has selected to support based on their participation in the Victoria Foundation’s Vital Youth program.
