By Randy Ollech The Boys 7-8 basketball season was busy this year. We started practices in October and even had our first jamboree at the end of the month. With 18 boys coming out to play on my team and another 18 on Mr. Robert Marthaller’s team, we had more than enough athletes to compete against other schools in the Greater Victoria region. The boys worked hard at developing their dribbling, shooting, and offensive skills. I was most proud of how well they played together and how they prided themselves on improving their individual and team defense every week. Our boys played smothering defense, and this led to a lot of great scoring chances. We managed to win all but one of our games (a tough buzzer-beating one-point loss) by significant margins. I want to thank the players and parents for making this season enjoyable and exciting!
