Despite the challenges presented by COVID-19, our Grad Prefect, Morgan Macdonald has managed to plan a Winter Formal for the GNS grad class of 2021 on February 10. With some modifications and safety protocols in place, the night will be about celebrating the students accomplishments.

“We are doing a red carpet, Hollywood movie night theme because we can’t have a dance or a games night,” said Morgan Macdonald, Grad Perfect. “Originally I didn’t know if we were going to be able to do anything at all, but I really wanted to make something happen.”

The graduating students will watch “Superbad,” and also enjoy student entertainment, movie snacks and photo opportunities.

Morgan is glad there is this opportunity to celebrate with the grad class while maintaining COVID-19 safety guidelines.

“It’s nice because we can’t really do much as a grad class this year, which is unfortunate because we are doing all this hard schoolwork and university applications. So it’s nice that we can do something to get dressed up,” she said.

The Grad Winter Formal Movie Night is free to attend and starts at 7:30 p.m. on February 10. Continuing with the Hollywood theme, it will be a cocktail attire dress code.

“The Grads should come because we really want to celebrate as a Grad class, and for everyone to hang out with each other. It will be nice for everyone to spend some time outside of our classes together, which is hard to do this year,” said Morgan. “It’s an opportunity for everyone to have fun, relax and spend quality time together.”
