By Duncan Brice The Junior Girls basketball season concluded this past weekend at the Independent Schools Athletic Association tournament hosted at St. Margaret’s School, Victoria. This group of Grade 9 and Grade 10 girls persevered through an extremely challenging season of league play to finish third of eight teams at the ISAA tournament. All of their hard work and commitment to improvement paid off with this hugely successful conclusion to the season. This team begin training in mid November and a number of the girls were playing basketball for their very first time. Despite lop-sided defeats during the Lower Vancouver Island Secondary School season of play, the girls continued to train hard to improve their skills. The ISAAs provided an opportunity to showcase all of their improvement and the girls rose to the challenge. They are to be congratulated on a wonderful accomplishment!
