The students have lots of access to books over the holiday. Library books can be borrowed for the holiday and as well students have access to Sora, our online e-book service:

To access SORA: https://soraapp.com/library/gnsbc

Then they can use their GNS Google password and username to enter the site

Our first virtual Russell Book fair was a great success and we now have over $1,100 in funds to purchase new books for the Beach Drive Learning Commons. Here is a note from Russell Books to our GNS community:

“Thanks so much for participating in Russell Books’ first ever set of Virtual Book Fairs! We hope to be able to get back to in-person fairs again soon, but in the meantime, it was great to be able to connect with Glenlyon Norfolk’s students and parents online. We know that it has been a different experience, and perhaps a little trickier to get the word out in this new format, so we have decided to show our support by topping up your credit totals with $500 of store credit from our Books for Schools program.”

After Spring Break, from April 6-9,  The Grade 4 Library Squad will be collecting donations of board books and picture books for 1000 x 5.  What is 1000 x 5? It is an organization that collects donated picture books, sorts them and distributes to children in need of books in Victoria. The PINK collection bin is in the Beach Drive Learning Commons. Library Squad provided an announcement video in the recent ‘Thursday Morning Online’.

Happy reading from the Beach Drive Learning Commons!
