By Sarah McLeod On Tuesday, Mrs. Crossley’s Grade 3 class visited Carleton House retirement residence to share their love of reading with seniors in our community. Mrs. McLeod helped the students choose their favourite picture books to share with their reading buddies, and after a short stroll down Oak Bay Avenue, the students enjoyed sharing the books in small groups. The activity attracted attention of other residents, who are keen to participate during the next visit in October. The Junior School’s longstanding relationship with Carleton House is just one of the many ways that GNS provides opportunities for students to connect with the wider community. The Grade 3 classes will be alternating their visits, which means Mrs. Palm’s class will have the wonderful opportunity to participate next month. A big thank you to Carleton House staff for making these visits possible!
