By Heather Crossley Grade 3 classes visited the University of Victoria campus print shop as part of their IB PYP unit of inquiry on Signs and Symbols. Students got a tour around the shop and saw the wide format printer, laminator, poster printer, perforator and cutter in action. They were amazed to see the process, from starting with the images on a computer through to the final products of stickers, large posters and signs. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and were thrilled to leave with some new Wonder Campaign stickers. The trip wouldn’t have been complete without a campus sign walk, where students captured images of unique signs and symbols on their iPads. Inquiry in action!
