Last week, SS students used hands-on experiments to teach Grade 2s about acids, bases, and aerodynamics. Team Science regulars Ella Chan, Nolan Dempsey, Nicole Gonin and Agustina Flores-Pitton set up two different experiments. One group tested different paper airplane designs to see which flew farther. They tried folding in different ways and attaching weights to the airplanes—all while keeping an unaltered plane for a control, of course! The other group used a liquid pH indicator to test whether different substances were acidic or basic. Substances included milk, lemon juice, sugar, soap, and more! The Grade 2s had a blast racing planes and mixing liquids. Come back soon!
