“It was a way of saying I had an impact on their daughter,” Bob says. “It was like winning a mini Oscar.” In addition to teaching Kindergarten, Bob also served on the GNS Board of Governors, a role that allowed him to see how the school functioned from a different perspective. Today, he knows just how important it is to give back to the community, and how much a gift like a seat in Denford Hall really means. Even though he retired in 2016, he has given to the Annual Appeal 19 years in a row and has no plans of stopping. ”Giving is necessary in order to provide for the next generation—to provide for the community, and to keep a good thing going.”
